BIBLICAL STUDIES

INTRODUCTION

Brief Survey of the Message of Revelation

Dr. Bahnsen presents a synopsis of the book of Revelation, paying attention to the book’s internal structure and key message. These lectures are extremely valuable for catching on to the basic thrust of this crucial book and are also a useful introduction to Dr. Bahnsen’s more extensive lecture series on Revelation.

The Book of Revelation

A full and detailed exposition of the book of Revelation from the preterist and postmillennial perspective delivered by Dr. Bahnsen (1977-78), one which has influenced other writers today and was personally praised by Dr. Cornelius Van Til. Recording quality is diminished on some tapes but the content is excellent.

The Prophecy of Zephaniah

A historical and theological study of a too-often neglected book of God’s holy word. Like you, Zephaniah was concerned about “the day of the Lord,” realizing God’s wrath would fall on the nations as well as the sin and stupidity of God’s people. Like you, Zephaniah needed the encouragement that God would reverse the shame of His people and make them prosper.

The Gospel of Luke

The amazing story of the Jewish Messiah is told by a Gentile physician in the gospel of Luke. Dr. Bahnsen systematically expounds the text, making valuable theological, historical and ethical applications. Can be broken into three 25 CD sets, call for more information.

1 Peter

A verse by verse exposition of the Apostle Peter’s first general epistle to the church, written by a man who has obviously been with Jesus, and at a time when the church was about to undergo its first intense persecution at Roman hands.

Paul's View of the Gospel

An exposition of Romans chapter three that underscores the grace of the gospel while contending against Schuller’s view of sin, the Roman Catholic view of justification, and dispensational views of the law.

The Book of Proverbs

Christians who overlook the intensely personal instruction and practical insights for daily affairs in the book of Proverbs will be poorer (and more foolish) for doing so. Dr. Bahnsen took four years to expound every verse—organized in topical lessons. There are a total of 112 lessons.

Wisdom Literature

In preparation for his extended study in the book of Proverbs, Dr. Bahnsen introduces the “Wisdom Literature” of the Old Testament and explains the biblical notion of wisdom. He summarizes the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.

Mouth Control

Taken from the larger set on Proverbs, these sermons all address the perpetual problem of the righteous and unrighteous use of our mouth. (With PDF disc of documents)

One Important Word

In this collection of popular sermons, Dr. Bahnsen emphasizes the authority and significance of each and every word of Scripture-by expounding on just one particular word in the text under consideration.

Galatians

In this series of Bible studies, Dr. Bahnsen offers a verse-by-verse exposition of Galatians. Significant in both theological and moral content, this book is the New Testament’s first inspired piece of literature. This series will increase your appreciation of this Pauline epistle and make you love the gospel of grace even more. The section that deals with the fruit of the Spirit is spiritually probing and personally enriching. Dr. Bahnsen explains how “the law” is not truly obeyed if believers do not exemplify the personal virtues outlined by Paul.

Fruit of the Spirit

This series of home Bible studies (part of the larger Galatians series above) is spiritually probing and personally enriching. Dr. Bahnsen explains how “the law” is not truly obeyed if believers do not exemplify the personal virtues

The Book of Hebrews

In this weekly Bible study Dr. Bahnsen systematically explains the book of Hebrews, showing the superiority of the New Covenant, the way in which it supersedes the Old Covenant, and how New Testament believers must live a life of persevering faith.
